"Is not the commission of our Lord still binding upon us? Can we not do more now than we are doing?" — William Carey
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
Let the peoples praise You, O God.
Let all the peoples praise You!
Gospel Missions
Center for Global Missions is committed to preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ where it is not heard, equipping leaders, planting churches, serving the poor and making disciples of all nations. The most encouraging account of mission work comes from the Book of Acts in the Bible itself. The history of the three mission journeys of Apostle Paul is very amazing and gives us some of the fundamentals of the vision for a global mission. The Apostles, though not well educated or financially sound, took the task entrusted upon them very seriously and was obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
We train prospective Christian leaders in the un-reached areas and sent to the field for mission work. Their knowledge of the local language and culture will further strengthen the burgeoning churches, leaders and missionaries in these areas. Also conferences are held periodically to provide an opportunity for participants to innovate new ways to engage in their evangelical work.
Leadership Training
Center for Global Missions offers various programs, beginning with the Timothy Discipleship Training program, which are designed to train prospective Christian leaders. Participants who graduate from the Timothy Discipleship Training program and demonstrate a passion for Christian evangelism will be selected, mentored and sent to other Christian institutions. They will further develop their spirituality and Christian missionary training at these institutions. The participants who engage in the leadership training programs described below will strengthen the burgeoning churches, leaders and missionaries in local communities.
Timothy Discipleship Training is the training program for the new Christian Believers. The goal of this program is to teach participants the basic principles of Christian doctrine and how to lead a Christian life. The program will be structured to last one year for each participant and will be led by volunteers at local churches that have been established through the church planting program. Individuals selected for enrollment in this program must proclaim his/her faith in Jesus Christ and get baptized in water according to Christian ordinance. Participants will attend weekly Sunday services in addition to weekly Bible study classes. Volunteers in each church will attempt to provide individualized counselling and missionary training sessions for each participant. Participants will also engage in local evangelism and church ministries under the supervision of the volunteers. Participants will receive a certificate representing completion of their Timothy Discipleship training upon completion of this program.
We also offer a program called the Bharat School of Evangelism. The program will be approximately three months in duration and will be designed to train participants on effective evangelization skills. Individuals who have completed the Timothy Discipleship Training program at the local church level and have shown an aptitude and willingness for further studies will be selected by the Applicant for this program. Upon acceptance, the Applicant will provide accommodations, food and study materials to participants for the duration of the program. They also engage in door-to-door evangelization and will also assemble in public spaces to sing gospel songs, preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and distribute gospel literature.
We also organize two annual conferences for pastors residing in Mission Fields. The usual attendance is approximately 700 and 1,500 individuals respectively for each of these conferences. The goal of each conference will be to provide a forum in which pastors may share their experiences and report on their work in their respective villages and towns. The conferences will aim to boost the morale of those in attendance and provide an opportunity for participants to innovate new ways to engage in their evangelical work.
Church Planting
Center for Global Missions is carrying out steps to establish Christian churches throughout the un-reached geographies with a systematic plan for reaching multiple villages and towns. The teams of trained evangelical volunteers will be equipped with vehicles and audio/visual equipment to show Gospel audio visual materials and distribute literature in local language. They will speak at organized public gatherings and invite people to experience the Christian faith. The volunteer evangelist will begin to coordinate daily services of Christian worship for interested local residents and also typically carry out weekly Bible studies. Baptism is offered to any local residents that express interest in accepting Jesus as their Saviour.
We also coordinate the operation of a literacy and Bible school supplementing the local church to train children in the village or town in basic Bible knowledge and also basic literacy. All of these activities results in the creation of a church that not only serves as a place of spiritual worship, but of social change as well. The church serves as a space of refuge for the various social, physical, and spiritual needs of the village or town.
Education & Literacy
Most of our mission fields has the unfortunate distinction of the lowest literacy rate. Center for Global Missions believes that individuals cannot achieve their fullest religious potential without access to quality educational programs. Advanced literacy skills are crucial for an individual to become engaged in their communities and to be able to spread the Christian gospel. We are operation about 160 literacy schools located in villages throughout these areas, typically in regions where children do not have access to public school and are therefore illiterate.
We are providing regular weekly reading circles hosted out of community centers or existing churches within various villages accompanied by audio visual aids. The literacy schools are being run under the leadership of volunteer resident pastors in the community. Couple of additional teachers are recruited from either local churches or the community. The students will obtain a primary level of reading and writing skills and, upon completing the literacy school program, will be encouraged to attend other regular schools.
Orphans & Widows
Center for Global Missions is also committed to improve the standard of living in these “ultra-poor” areas by developing and operating shelters for children. We are currently operating 6 Children’s homes with an approximate strength of 200. Through these shelters, we are providing safe and clean living conditions for homeless children. The children living in each shelter will be taught a basic secular primary school curriculum. This will provide such children with a strong educational foundation that they would otherwise not receive.
We are working with local social relief agencies to find impoverished and homeless families and children to populate the shelters. Prospective residents in the our shelters will be screened and supervised by our volunteers to ensure that they are homeless and have no other safe place to reside. Candidates may be referred by social relief agencies or may be found by our volunteers. Occupants are provided with basic amenities, including meals, a shared, dormitory-style bedroom and bathing facilities. Arrangements will be made for occupants to meet with staff from government or social service agencies to access needed services and resources.
Social Welfare
In addition to providing spiritual ministry to the impoverished individuals and families our mission fields, Center for Global Missions provides basic amenities, including clothing, bedding, immunizations and basic health and hygiene educational programs. We will, purchase food items locally, and will have meals prepared for the community as well as snacks for those children who attend our literacy schools. We also conduct medical camps regularly in remote areas where basic medical facilities are not available.
We provide basic health and amenities to the impoverished residents of these areas through volunteers that perform similar functions for organizations such as UNICEF and other local health agencies. We also provide clean water, clothing, bedding or personal hygiene items from time to time to impoverished children and households.
